I love food and I love photography. Me and Frank, we have a few things in common. The only difference is he’s much better at the cooking part. Meet Chef Frank Cutrara, he’s pretty awesome in the kitchen and in the photo studio. Frank was nice enough to invite my friend Louise and I over for a dinner/food photography party one night and we had a blast. I’ve always wanted to try food photography but I know that if I was to try to buy/cook/setup food to shoot myself, there would probably be nothing but crumbs and dirty dishes to photograph. I realize in the real food photography world, it wouldn’t be quite the same unless I wanted to eat ice cream that doesn’t melt (pretty cool stuff and so realistic, I  worked with it today for food shoot) or food that is only half cooked. Anyway, this was something different and it was super fun! Thanks for having us over Frank!

Check out Cutrara’s Kitchen for recipes, cooking classes and more!

If it wasn’t 1:20am, I’d probably go eat a sandwich or Special K. Enjoy and good night!

Hey all, I just want to let everyone know that I’ll be teaching at the Daytripper Photo – Beauty & The Beasts Portrait Photography workshop in Toronto on Sunday February 26th 2012.  This hands on workshop will have you shooting and learning techniques for portrait photography, lighting setups, posing and more. It might also include the best jams to listen to while shooting, top snack choices during editing and basic to intermediate shooting stance theory :) Ok maybe not but I’m sure some sort of reference to snacks will be made at some point during the day. Either way we’ll have an awesome time shooting and learning about portrait photography!

To register or for more information check out Daytripper Photo!
